Thought it would be a good night with the Boys...

So last night my Jenny went out with the girls for dinner. The entire day, I was excited to pick up Bobby and have a great boys night at home. I had visions of him eating his cereal without fussing, taking his whole bottle, playing with his toys, a nice calm bath time, and then putting him down to bed.

Much to my dismay , Bobby didnt agree with my vision for a nice night. We got home, and Bobby immediately started crying. Because he was upset, I decided to skip the cereal and give him a bottle. Bobby had other ideas...

He didnt want to be held laying down (no suprise there he loves to stand). The bad part, he didnt want to stand either. I tried everything I could think of. Changed him, rocked him, put him in the swing, the bouncy seat, the exersaucer. Of course, the phone starts ringing so Mommy could check on her boys, which got the dog riled up.

Finally, Bobby decided that if I held him up against my shoulder, while alternating between patting and rubbing his back, he was content enough to stop cyring. Ah ha, my opportunity! Wrong again. The second I moved him into a laying position to eat, the waterworks started up again.

The next part really shows how much Bobby loves his Mommy. When Jenny made it home, she offered to try and feed him. He took the rest of the bottle with no problems, and went straight to sleep. She was even kind enough to let me take a break from the crying and just chill on the couch for a few minutes.

Sometimes it can be really hard when you are unable to discipher what is wrong with your baby, and can drive you to the brink of insanity. The good news... this morning when he woke up, one of the first things he did was give me a big smile :) That toothless grin can melt any heart and make hours of screaming well worth while.

What did I learn from this? I still havent figured out how to get him calm if he wants his Mommy, but I have been reassured that he does love me and when he is full and rested we can play and have fun. I cant wait until this weekend, when Bobby, Mommy and I can hang out together and have lots of fun!

Thank you for being such a good Mommy Jennifer. I dont know what Bobby and I would do without you.

More Interested in the Water than the Fish

Saturday was a great day for our family. We went to the Dallas World Aquarium with our friends Jared, Heather, and their son Parker.

It was amazing to see how fascinated Bobby was, not of the fish but the sparkly water making the light dance on the surface. I think he stared at every square inch of water at the aquarium. He might have even seen a fish or two as well… I guess only Bobby knows.

It is truly amazing to see the world through your child’s eyes. The smallest things are absolutely fascinating. “Wow, look at this hand!!! It’s so cool!!!” We are truly two of the most blessed people in the world.

We can’t wait to see what he discovers next.

Bobby's Girlfriend

Matt and Christine brought over little Maddie for some dinner and visiting. As you can see Maddie really has a thing for our little Bobby. Gonna have to keep an eye on that girl.

4 Months Old Already

Wow, time flies. Bobby is already 4 months old and more than double his birth weight. Last week we went to the doctor for a check-up and shots. Bobby now weighs 15 lbs 2 oz and is 24.75 in long. He's a growing boy! Bobby did not like his shots at all and got his first "cranky/sad" on his paper from school.

Doctor said we could start Bobby on rice cereal and move to food. We can't wait to experience this with Bobby...lots of new textures and flavors! I'm sure we'll have some great pics to post from his feedings!

As you can see, he is starting to sit up and has discovered his toes. He giggles all the time at his goofy daddy, and loves spending time with his mommy.

Bobby "Joe" Cool

We decided to take Bobby out for a walk Sunday because it was only about 88 degrees, and there was a nice breeze. Big mistake. Despite the breeze, and Bobby's cool sunglasses, the heat still wiped all of us out. When we finally got home Bobby was so warm, he couldnt help but sleep. Next time we will walk when its a little cooler out. I'm sure we will still bring the Joe Cool sunglasses though.
